Sport as Discipline
Basketball, soccer, and seasonal sports teach the daily habits — showing up, working hard, losing well, winning humbly — that shape character far beyond the court.
Our Mission
LegacyX exists where character, faith, and neighborhood intersect — building the kind of foundation a child carries for life.
Basketball, soccer, and seasonal sports teach the daily habits — showing up, working hard, losing well, winning humbly — that shape character far beyond the court.
Rooted in Christian tradition and open to every family. We believe a child grounded in purpose grows into an adult who serves their community with conviction.
No child is raised alone. We connect kids, parents, mentors, coaches, and pastors into a Philadelphia-wide circle that walks together for the long haul.
What We Do
Year-round leagues for ages 7–17 across Germantown, Mt. Airy, and North Philly. Coaches double as mentors.
Learn More →A six-week summer experience pairing daily athletics with character-building and family worship nights.
Learn More →One adult mentor matched to one young person for a 12-month commitment of weekly time, accountability, and presence.
Learn More →Free outdoor movie nights every other Friday in summer — popcorn, kids, parents, neighbors, no agenda.
Learn More →Monthly drives partnering with local churches and pantries to stock kitchens across eight Philadelphia neighborhoods.
Learn More →Homework help, literacy support, and one-on-one tutoring, weekdays 3–6pm. Snacks always included.

— Tanya R., parent, Germantown
“LegacyX gave me a place to belong on Saturdays and a mentor I still text every week. I’m the first in my family heading to college.”
— Marcus D., age 17, North Philly
“You don’t volunteer here to fix anyone. You show up, you stay, and you watch what consistency does to a child’s life.”
— Pastor James W., mentor & partner

“We are a faith-led organization, interdenominational and family-friendly — rooted in the conviction that every Philadelphia child is made for purpose, and that the work of love is done one Saturday, one practice, one shared meal at a time.”
